Fundraising for Haiti and Chile Relief

The situation in Haiti and Chile demand the coming together of the international community for the cause of humanity. Whereas watching the plight of human suffering on
the television often leaves the average citizen feeling helpless due to the limited power, influence and resources they may wield, nothing could be further from the truth.

The individual capacity to greatly impact the lives of those in need is not in what one currently wield’s or lack’s, rather, it rest’s in societies’ market of compassion for others and how much an individual can extract from that goodwill to make a positive change in the lives of those in need.

On March 10th, 2010 (today), we at the Save Haiti Project held a bake sale at the University Of Ontario Institute of Technology to raise fund’s to help with Haiti and Chile relief by mean’s of the Canadian red cross. Setting out to raise awareness and fund raise for a cause is one of the most fundamental way’s that the average citizen can help to impact the lives of other’s in need far away from them. The Save Haiti Project raised a total of $118 dollars for the cause.

Though very little in proportion to the disaster, what is significant is that the Save Haiti Project is but a small group of a much larger population of citizens worldwide who’s combined donation’s to the cause will help ensure that the affected receive first aid, the hungry can get food, the sick can receive care, and the homeless can receive shelter and attention.
It is the combined effort of humanity that later creates the biggest impact in the lives of those in need. The Save Haiti Project is happy to have been a part of it.

It is never too late. Visit the red cross website and make an impact!
